VA offers comprehensive dental care benefits to certain qualifying Veterans. In addition, Veterans enrolled in VA health care may purchase dental insurance at a reduced cost through the VA Dental Insurance Program (VADIP). Beneficiaries of VA’s Civilian Health and Medical Program — a health insurance program for dependents of Veterans — are also eligible for VADIP.
Services offered through VADIP include diagnostic, preventive, surgical, emergency, and endodontic and restorative treatment. Veterans and other beneficiaries who choose to purchase VADIP pay a fixed monthly premium and any copayments required for coverage, depending on the type of plan selected.
Veterans who are visually impaired may be eligible for VA’s vision health benefits. VA’s vision care ranges from primary eye care services to intermediate and advanced clinical vision care, including clinical examinations, vision-enhancing devices, and specialized training in the use of innovative vision technology.
VA also offers inpatient rehabilitation centers for Veterans who are blind. These centers focus on enhancing skills such as communication, orientation and mobility, manual skills, and recreational and daily living activities.

VA offers many assisted living and home health services for eligible Veterans, including 132 Community Living Centers that provide short- and long-stay services. Home and community-based services are also available. VA’s Caregiver Support Program provides family caregivers of eligible Veteran services and support to help make sure all Veterans receive quality care.
