The Florence Housing Authority closed it Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list effective October 29, 2014 at 4:30PM. Prior to the closure, the housing authority had opened its Section 8 waiting list on September 8, 2014. When it was open, application could be made online, in person or by mail.
The waiting list was not a lottery meaning that each qualifying Section 8 waiting list applicant was added to the waiting list in the date in order in which they applied.
As of July 2017, the Florence Housing Authority (FHA) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list applications.
To apply: Pick up an application at the FHA office, located at 110 South Cypress St., Florence, AL 35630, from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm CT, Monday-Friday.
Once the application has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to the address listed above.
There are no preferences.
Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by the date and time the application is received.
